see below for youth theatre classes and holiday projects...

Strange Town Youth Theatre is for 8-25 year olds in Edinburgh.  We run weekly classes and holiday courses at Out of the Blue in Leith and present regular performances in Edinburgh venues.  Whether you already have some drama experience or have never done drama before, this is your chance to learn about different styles of performing, to have fun with drama games, acquire skills and to meet new people.  Strange Town is run by experienced youth theatre leaders, who want to create an exciting youth theatre for Edinburgh. Strange Town Youth Theatre at the Fringe 2011

The 14-18s Youth Theatre successfully performed After You've Gone by Duncan Kidd at Out of the Blue as part of Leith on the Fringe.  The play looks at teenagers in 1916 and their children a generation on in the 1930s.  A section of history seen through the eyes of young people cleverly woven together by a series of letters.  Read what writer Duncan Kidd said about his work:-

What the critics said:-

"The young cast give impassioned performances and succeed in highlighting the unsettling fact that those being sent to fight in these wars were merely children"

Hazel Jessiman, Theatre Review

What Irvine Welsh said:-

Irvine Welsh took part in a press photo call with members of the After You've Gone cast and received considerable media coverage in the Scotsman, Evening News and from STV.  See link for interview:-
